Kim has a background in developmental psychology and school psychology. She offers services to children, adolescents, and their parents to help them deal with various issues such as emotional and behavioural problems, adjustment to life changes such as divorce and separation, anger management, parenting support, attention difficulties, social skills, and other related issues. Formal assessment of cognitive functioning, attention, behaviour, learning needs and other related issues are an area of specialty for Kim.  Consultation with parents and teachers, intervention and counselling, and the education and professional development of educators, parents and interested individuals as an advocate for children are also part of Kim’s work.

Kim’s approach draws mainly on cognitive-behavioural therapies and play therapies. Therapy includes a variety of activities and components in order to engage children and adolescents.  Sometimes it involves talking and sometimes not talking, games, art, music, workbooks, and various other things with the goal of building a relationship with her clients to encourage well being.
